About The Position

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Gateway Agent to join our Ocean Gateway team. In this pivotal role, you will manage international shipments, from initial documentation preparation through to final delivery. You'll collaborate closely with internal offices, airlines, and terminal warehouses daily, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with shipment documentation. Your expertise in navigating global logistics processes and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders will be crucial in maintaining smooth shipment flows. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of Global Forwarding experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • 2-4 years of gateway or shipment consolidations experience

Responsibilities

  • Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo
  • Initiate, prepare, process, and assemble all required documentation for air shipments
  • Process and distribute documentation accurately and timely to carriers, customers, and agents
  • Utilize industry knowledge and critical thinking to solve challenges internally and externally
  • Coordinate shipment tasks, including Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI) submission, bills of lading, updates, pre-alerts, tracking, invoicing, etc.
  • Manage shipment data in Navisphere, maintaining data accuracy
  • Consolidate master records to maintain high data integrity, ensuring accuracy in routing and adherence to INCOterms
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, overseas offices, agents, customers, and vendors
  • Foster positive working relationships among team members
  • Ensure compliance with C.H. Robinson, local, and global laws, regulations, and procedures
