About The Position

The Gatehouse Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming entry experience for members, guests, and staff. This role involves monitoring access to the property, assisting visitors, and maintaining a visible and professional presence at all times. This position is well suited for individuals with experience in security, customer service, school or campus environments, or public service roles. It is also a strong fit for retired law enforcement professionals or individuals seeking a structured and meaningful seasonal position. Successful candidates are attentive, approachable, and confident in handling a variety of situations while maintaining professionalism.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in security, customer service, or a related role preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • Ability to stand and remain alert for extended periods
  • Ability to walk and perform routine patrols across the property
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic security systems or surveillance equipment
  • Background in private clubs, schools, or similar environments

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival
  • Verify credentials and manage entry to ensure only authorized individuals access the property
  • Provide directions and assist with general inquiries about the Club
  • Maintain a consistent presence at the gatehouse and surrounding areas
  • Conduct routine patrols of the clubhouse, parking areas, and grounds
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, safety concerns, or policy violations
  • Monitor and enforce Club policies related to access and property use
  • Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies including medical incidents, alarms, and disturbances
  • Follow established emergency procedures and coordinate with management or local authorities when needed
  • Provide CPR or First Aid when required
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of activity, incidents, and patrols
  • Communicate important updates or concerns to Club leadership in a timely manner
  • Work closely with staff across departments to ensure a safe and coordinated environment
