About The Position

Gatehouse attendants are responsible for greeting individuals approaching the visitor lane and residents returning home in a friendly and professional manner. They provide informational assistance, directing traffic within the community and recording all vehicular and pedestrian traffic entering the property via the access control system (KWIC). Attendants observe, record, and communicate relevant actions, activities, incidents, and information to the Management Office, Security, or Front Desk personnel. They are also responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork legibly, maintaining the cleanliness of the gatehouse, and ensuring only authorized personnel are granted access. Additionally, they must adhere to proper telephone etiquette and report building deficiencies such as water leaks, fire alarm violations, or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel by completing an incident report or work order.

Requirements

  • A positive attitude and willingness to work with a diverse population.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience as a Gatehouse employee
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable.

Responsibilities

  • Stand and greet everyone who approaches the visitor lane seeking access to the property in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Greet all residents returning home via the resident lane.
  • Provide informational assistance as required, with knowledge of locations throughout the property to properly direct traffic within the community.
  • Record via the access control system (KWIC) all traffic entering the property both vehicular and pedestrian.
  • Observe, record, and communicate actions, activities, incidents and/or any information that may be of interest to the Management Office, Security or the Front Desk personnel.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork ensuring reports are legible and in order.
  • Keep the gatehouse clean at all times.
  • Ensure that only Authorized Personnel is allowed access into the community.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette when speaking or answering the telephone.
  • Report all building deficiencies to Chief Engineer, Management Office, and the Front Desk personnel such as: Any water leaks regardless of the size and severity, fire alarm violations, audible or silent, malfunctioning of equipment. An Incident report or work order to note any deficiencies observed. Incident report should be submitted to the Management office immediately.
