Regional Distribution Center - Gate Keeper
About The Position
American Tire Distributors (ATD) is seeking a Gate Keeper for their Regional Distribution Center. This role is responsible for facilitating all inbound and outbound traffic entering or exiting the shipping yard, ensuring accurate logging of container, trailer, and seal ID information. The Gate Keeper monitors and authorizes entrances for carriers, vendors, and maintenance vehicles, communicates with dispatchers to manage the trailer pool, and tracks the arrival and departure of 'Hub & Spoke' trailers to ensure on-time performance. The position also involves adhering to company policies, reporting non-compliance, and performing other duties as needed.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate all inbound and outbound traffic entering or exiting the shipping yard.
- Verify and update all inbound and outbound traffic logs with accurate container, trailer, and seal ID number information.
- Monitor and authorize entrances for incoming carriers, vendors, and maintenance vehicles.
- Communicate with the dispatcher to inform of all incoming trailers for accurate trailer pool management.
- Track arrival and departure of daily 'Hub & Spoke' trailers to ensure on-time performance.
- Notify Management immediately of any delayed arrivals or departures.
- Adhere to all company policies and department procedures and report any non-compliance.
- Obtain copies of truck driver licenses on weekends or after hours for drivers picking up loaded trailers.
- Receive and hold all FedEx and UPS packages delivered at the guard shack.
- Use radio communications to inform Management, administrative staff, yard jockey, and dispatcher of all visitors entering and/or exiting the RDC’s security area.
- Utilize and update Yard Management system to input all inbound and outbound trailers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
