About The Position

Gate Guards provide positive, timely service to incoming and outgoing customers using the Yard and are responsible for security at the gate entrance. They help ensure smooth traffic flow, protect people and property, verify customer purchases and loading, and communicate with Warehouse and Customer Service teams. The role also includes directing customers to merchandise for loading, identifying potential load safety concerns, assisting with assembly projects as needed, and promoting Fleet Farm customer initiatives.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn and operate an RF unit, tablet, or other technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide smooth traffic flow through the gate area with efficient and accurate customer service.
Help provide high-quality security services to protect people and property.
Verify customer purchases by reviewing receipts and outside loading slips.
Direct customers to merchandise locations for proper loading.
Follow standard policies and procedures to help reduce company shrink.
Communicate incoming customers to Warehouse team members to support timely customer interactions.
Verify the accuracy of customer loading using an RF unit and outside loading application, as well as a physical count.
Communicate with the Customer Service Department and retain outside loading slips for customer loads that were not completely loaded.
Inform customers of potential safety concerns regarding their loads.
Assist with assembly projects as needed.
Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
