About The Position
Doncasters is seeking a Gate Grinder to join their team in Groton, CT. This role involves performing belt grinding operations to remove gates from various company product castings. The candidate will manually manipulate parts against abrasive belts to remove gates, ensuring precision and quality. This position requires careful attention to detail and the ability to use precision measurement tools to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
- Belt grinding and finishing techniques
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

- Blueprint or template reading
- Quality inspection and assurance
- Knowledge of manufacturing and casting processes
Responsibilities
- Perform belt grinding operations to remove gates from a variety of Company product castings.
- Smooth and grind gates from castings in the manufacturing process.
- Manually manipulate parts against abrasive belts to remove gates.
- Check parts for accuracy using micrometers, radius gauges, templates, and fixed gauges.
