About The Position

The Grind Specialist will set up and operate various semi-complex to complex grinding machines. Grind parts according to the blueprint specification while following standard operating procedures. This role requires a minimum of five (5) years of precision grinder experience and the ability to hold tight tolerances of +/-.0001. The specialist will be responsible for loading/unloading, operating, adjusting, changing over, and maintaining multiple machines, potentially including running multiple grinders and different processes. Additionally, the role involves editing programs for CNC-controlled grinders and performing primary maintenance on assigned equipment.

Requirements

Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience with a variety of cutting tools and grinding.
Minimum of five (5) years of precision grinder experience preferred.
Ability to learn and understand new processes, machines, and technology.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to use inspection gages and indicators.
Ability to hold tight tolerances +/-.0001.
Pay close attention to detail and quality.
Experience using at least two of the following grinders: OKAMOTO SURFACE GRINDER, OKAMOTO GRINDER 16-32DX, STUDER GRINDER S30, TSCHUDIN GRINDER HTG410.
Must be pleasant to work with.
Must be willing to multi-task and change duties frequently.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge in running Robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

Load/unload, operate, adjust, change-over, and maintain multiple machines.
Run multiple grinders and different processes as required.
Edit programs for CNC-controlled grinders.
Perform primary maintenance on assigned equipment.
Assist and guide the maintenance team in performing repairs if needed.
Actively communicate with related departments (Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.).
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness in the assigned area.
Achieve established cycle time efficiencies and machine utilization.
Multi-task and change duties frequently.
Perform other tasks assigned by the Manager.
