About The Position

Performs clerical work in support of assigned park, park programs or function. Duties include greeting park guests and collecting toll money from beach users that are entering the park. Positions in this class perform routine account reconciliation and identify needed corrective actions to resolve discrepancies; answer questions; and maintain documents and records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience performing cash handling and/or fiscal control work
  • Ability to exert medium physical effort in medium work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of medium weight (20-50 pounds).
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion at a keyboard or work station.
  • Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds and visual cues or signals.
  • Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
  • Must submit to a Civil Service Clerical Exam.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to the general public; collects money for beach access; collects monies for general services, concession rental, daily conservation fees on a daily basis and verifies credit card transactions; summarizes details of transactions on individual ledgers; assesses cost and fees.
  • Opens and closes gates during morning and afternoon shifts; cleans kiosk machine ensuring they are working properly; explains to guest where pavilion and attractions are in the park.
  • Informs guest about the RV park and rules and/or regulations permitted within the park; keeps entrance lanes running smoothly.
  • Directs complaints to proper division manager; provides the public with information regarding the amenities of the parks, park hours, fees and park policies.
  • Checks for authorized access to park; prepares reports of daily receipts at the end of each shift; keeps booths clean
  • Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding assigned park functions and amenities; serves as liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other departments in regards to the park.
  • Explains policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
