About The Position

Per Mar Security is hiring a full-time Gate Attendant for a theft-prevention role. The position focuses on protecting a client’s merchandise by ensuring customers do not leave with more than they purchased. It is customer-facing and involves working in an indoor/outdoor environment, interacting with customers, checking orders, counting purchased products, and monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic. Managers provide support with customer situations. The schedule is approximately 36 hours per week: Saturday 2:00 PM–9:30 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM–8:30 PM, and Monday and Friday 2:00 PM–9:30 PM. An additional day may be available to pick up. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour. No previous experience is required, and necessary training is provided. Relocation and travel are not required.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to walk short distances for 2–4 hours at a time; the role also requires walking for extended periods during peak customer hours.
Have strong attention to detail.
Be willing to participate in the company’s pre-employment screening process, including a drug screen and background investigation.
Be able to obtain a DSPS Private Security Person license.
Have no felonies, as required by Wisconsin DSPS Private Security License requirements.
Be punctual and on time for every shift.
Have reliable transportation.
Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Have basic computer skills and general knowledge of using a tablet.
Be comfortable handling various customer situations with support from managers.

Responsibilities

Check customer orders and count purchased products.
Monitor incoming and outgoing traffic in an appropriate and timely manner.
Attend to customers promptly and handle customer-facing situations with support from managers.
Communicate using a hand-held radio.
Protect the client’s merchandise by helping ensure customers leave with only what they purchased.
