About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is seeking a Gastrointestinal Technician to join their dynamic environment dedicated to delivering top-notch outpatient surgical services. This role involves assisting surgeons with technical equipment during endoscopic procedures, cleaning and disinfecting instruments, managing patient flow, preparing procedure rooms, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling clerical tasks. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays, and no call responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab
- Current BLS required
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred
- ACLS preferred
Responsibilities
- Operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures.
- Collaborates with the physician and registered nurse in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes.
- Cleans, disinfects, and maintains endoscopes and other instruments.
- Manages patient flow.
- Prepares the room for procedures.
- Stocks supplies.
- Orders materials.
- Handles various clerical tasks.
