About The Position

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking an Academic Gastrointestinal Pathologist to join the Anatomic Pathology Division. This role primarily focuses on Surgical Pathology within a subspecialty sign-out model, with key responsibilities in the GI & Liver pathology subspecialty services. The position involves clinical service, teaching, and research. OHSU is a prominent research university and Oregon's only public academic health center, boasting a high volume of surgical specimens and excellent support from molecular genetic laboratories and a state-of-the-art core laboratory. The Knight Cancer Institute is an international leader in research and cancer treatment, offering numerous collaborative research opportunities.

Requirements

  • Board certified in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.
  • Interest in providing the highest quality medical care and medical education.
  • Actively participating in clinical scholar-type research resulting in publication.
  • One or more surgical pathology subspecialty fellowships.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical service and teaching functions of the GI & Liver pathology subspecialty services.
  • Sharing evening and weekend call on an equal basis.
  • Participation in the instructional program for medical and graduate students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participation in committees and councils of OHSU.
  • Participation in outreach and public service programs and professional societies.
  • Participation in clinical and basic research programs at OHSU.
  • Working toward funding research studies through grants and contracts.
