Gastroenterologist
About The Position
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position in Westminster, Colorado. This inpatient role involves clinical duties and call coverage, primarily Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with 3-4 weeks of coverage per month. The position also includes night and weekend call responsibilities. The average daily volume includes 2-3 procedures and 2-3 ICU bleeds per week. Responsibilities include providing inpatient GI consultations, performing endoscopic procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP, managing call, coordinating with support staff, and documenting patient encounters in the EPIC EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified Gastroenterology
- Active CO license or IMLC
- Active DEA
- Clean record
- Self-Query NPDB dated within 30 days
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient GI consultations for emergency department and admitted patients
- Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP) as needed
- Manage night call (3p–7a) and 24-hour weekend call, responding to emergent cases
- Coordinate with on-call anesthesia and GI nursing teams for urgent procedures
- Document encounters in EPIC EMR and complete required training modules
