About The Position

UMass Memorial Health, the premier health and wellness partner for the people of Central Massachusetts and the largest healthcare system in the region, is seeking passionate and skilled Gastroenterologists to join the UMass Memorial Medical Group. Our team serves both our academic medical center and community-based practices, offering a unique opportunity to blend academic medicine with high-quality community care. Join a vibrant Division of Gastroenterology composed of 22 faculty members, 2 PhDs, 12 clinical fellows, and 10 advanced practice providers. This position offers a dynamic balance of clinical practice, teaching, research, and administrative leadership opportunities. The clinical practice will be primarily based in Southbridge, MA or Marlborough, MA with dedicated service weeks at the UMass Memorial Medical Center campus. The role includes a clinic schedule of 2 sessions/week (1 day), seeing an average of 8 patients per session, and a procedural schedule of 6 sessions/week (3 days total). Academic and administrative time is allocated for 2 sessions/week (1 day). The position involves a night call rotation (1:7 call) and utilizes the Epic Electronic Medical Record system. An academic appointment with UMass Chan is commensurate with experience, and there are opportunities to engage in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, and leadership roles. Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Must hold a MD or DO degree
  • Qualify for a Massachusetts license
