About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist in Columbia, SC. The role involves 24-hour weekend call coverage for newborns, pediatrics, and adolescents. Responsibilities include managing urgent inpatient cases, performing urgent endoscopies at provider discretion, and interpreting X-rays. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency with the Epic EMR system. Support staff is TBD, but specialty backup is available through hospital services.
Requirements
- Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology or Gastroenterology.
- Active SC License or willingness to obtain.
- BLS & ACLS certification.
- DEA certification.
- South Carolina CSR certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Epic EMR experience required.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage for newborns, pediatrics, and adolescents.
- Manage urgent inpatient pediatric gastroenterology cases.
- Perform urgent endoscopy/scopes as needed.
- Interpret X-rays.
- Handle GI bleeding cases.
- Consult on GI cases.
- Round on patients.
