About The Position

This role is responsible for distributing and accurately recording gasoline disbursed in vehicles. The Gas Truck Operator will enter fuel usage data, start vehicles, check fuel gauges, mark vehicles needing fuel, and return to fuel them. They will also monitor and report Auction gasoline levels to prevent shortages, report inoperable vehicles and malfunctioning equipment, and assist customers in locating vehicles. Additionally, this position may support sale day duties, assist in audits, and perform other assigned duties by management. The role requires a commitment to safety and involves working outdoors with exposure to the elements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • OR any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Must work at a specified Cox location.
  • Must clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

  • Assist customers in locating vehicles.
  • Assist in sale day duties as needed (i.e. drive, act as lane leader, jump start vehicles, etc.).
  • Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and accurately record gasoline disbursed in vehicles.
  • Enter fuel usage in AS400 via portable terminal (PT).
  • Start vehicles, check fuel gages, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.
  • Report and record Auction gasoline levels and alert proper person to avoid running out of gasoline in main fill area.
  • Report inoperable vehicles to Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
  • Report damage or malfunctioning equipment on vehicles (i.e., pumps, fuel trucks).
  • Tire plugging/repairing
  • Assist customers in locating vehicles.
  • Assist in sale day duties as needed (i.e. drive, act as lane leader, jump start vehicles, etc.).
  • Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
