About The Position

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking qualified Chemical Engineers or Mechanical Engineers to support both ongoing and new missions for the Gas Transfer Systems Technology Group. The position will provide engineering expertise to support Lifetime Extension Program Development Tasks and Reservoir Surveillance Activities and Reporting for the Gas Transfer Systems Technology Group in SRNL. The selected candidates will collaborate on a team to conduct the assigned technical work. Ability to interpret technical data and writing technical reports, and peer reviewed publications is required.

Requirements

  • BS, + 4-6 yrs; MS + 3-5 yrs; PhD + 2-4 yrs of relevant experience in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is legally required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Design Labs/Requirements
  • Working knowledge and understanding of gas manifold pressure and vacuum systems
  • Hands-on experience in gas handling, vacuum systems, pressure systems and/or piping systems

  • Troubleshoot issues with data and test systems

  • Processing, loading, and testing of pressurized containers
  • Regular scheduling and financial reporting duties
  • Occasional travel to work on project teams across the Nuclear Enterprise to meet Design Agency requirements
