About The Position

Primoris Distribution Services, Inc. is seeking a Gas Tech to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas distribution systems throughout Georgia. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of natural gas to customers while adhering to all safety regulations and company standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas distribution or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of natural gas distribution systems, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized gas equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices related to natural gas.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
  • Fusion certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain natural gas pipelines, mains, and service lines.
  • Perform leak surveys, pinpoint leaks, and repair gas leaks safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and maintain gas system equipment, including fusion machines, excavators, trenchers, and various hand tools.
  • Conduct pressure testing, purging, and commissioning of new and repaired gas lines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete assignments.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on gas infrastructure.
  • Respond to emergency calls related to gas leaks, outages, and other incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Complete accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports and inspection logs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
