About The Position

Gulf Companies is hiring a Gas Storage & Pipeline Facility Operator to operate and maintain a gas storage and pipeline facility with Gulf Energy Storage Services in Beaumont, Texas. The role involves safely operating facility components and performing regular and preventive maintenance on pumps, gas compressors, valves, control equipment, pipelines, and similar equipment, along with occasional reactive repairs. The operator works rotating shifts to support 24/7 facility operations and follows instructions and established safety, operational, environmental, and company procedures.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years of field experience in an industrial facilities operations position.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• General computer skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by Gulf’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Basic mechanical experience, including fluid and gas piping systems.
• Basic electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repair knowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and digital transmitters and controllers, switches, and other process instrumentation.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Equipment operating and rigging certifications.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, and ANSI national codes.

Responsibilities

• Make several daily rounds of underground salt storage wells and related equipment to check for proper operation, faulty equipment, pipe leaks, malfunctioning pumps, and valves.
• Operate equipment by starting, stopping, or adjusting pumps and compressors, aligning valves, and performing general maintenance.
• Enter data into Gulf’s reporting system.
• Interface with operations personnel from other organizations, Gulf customers, and vendors.
• Work rotating shifts to cover 24/7 operations, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Follow written instructions and procedures as well as verbal commands from the Lead Operator.
• Follow facility safety and operational procedures and Gulf protocols and procedures for environmental requirements.
• Make responsible and ethical decisions regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
• Adhere to Gulf’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
