About The Position

This entry-level team member position is responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. The role involves a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising. The General Merchandise Clerk will collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed, building rapport with customers, displaying a friendly and outgoing attitude, and assisting customers with questions or directing them to appropriate team members. The position also includes stocking product, maintaining displays according to merchandising standards, and utilizing technology to complete activities and tasks. This role is applicable to departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal and Floral.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Deliver remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude
  • Complete a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising
  • Collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed
  • Build rapport with customers
  • Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language
  • Help customers with any questions they may have
  • Direct customers to another team member who can answer their question if unable to do so yourself
  • Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards
  • Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks
