About The Position

This position involves performing gas utility construction work activities according to classification. The role requires operating equipment for main installations, leak investigations, and leak surveys, and serving on a 24-hour emergency watch periodically. Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be able to work safely outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Must be located within 35 driving miles of the Operating Center.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and serve on standby service watch.
  • Possess a CDL or be willing to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
  • Ability to safely stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work at ground level and in excavations for extended periods.
  • Perform physical labor associated with gas main installations, leak investigations, leak surveys, and related utility construction work.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in gas utility operations.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Work may require working in trenches, excavations, and around active gas facilities.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Required to always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Position is considered safety-sensitive and subject to applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • HVAC experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
