About The Position

The Gas Bar Assistant Manager will help lead the day-to-day operations of the Gas Bar and support the team to deliver exceptional customer service. This role works closely with the Gas Bar Manager on team leadership, merchandising, inventory, safety compliance, and operational execution. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in driving sales and ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment, while also supporting departmental goals through continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduate, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of customer service and/or retail experience
  • Experience in merchandising, inventory management, cash handling and customer service excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills that demonstrate successful outcomes
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and prioritize competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead a team while effectively coaching and developing staff
  • Ability to demonstrate strong alignment to the values of Homestead Co-op: Integrity, Excellence, and Responsibility
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must be willing to provide a criminal record check satisfactory to the employer
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain any certification requirements such as Propane Safety Certification
  • Must be willing to work variable shifts that include days, evenings and weekends
  • Must have a class 5 driver’s license valid in the Province of Manitoba

Nice To Haves

  • Post secondary education in business, retail or related field is considered an asset
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is an asset
