About The Position

The Green Team is responsible for the assisting with grounds maintenance, interior maintenance and environmental services as assigned. Must be available Full Time Monday to Friday in July & August.

Requirements

  • Must be in good mental and physical health to meet the requirements to the position.
  • Ability to execute work in a neat and clean manner.
  • Follows standards outlined in Infection Control Manual, Emergency Manual, and WHMIS program.
  • Adheres to WPS&H policies and procedures; keeping current with practices; working in a prudent and safe manner and informing other employees if they are using unsafe work practices or equipment; identifying and reporting any real or potential safety hazards; wearing all safety equipment related to this position as well as participating in all safety-training offered through the facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Yard work and painting experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes (Annuals and Perennials).
  • Maintain gardens and lawns by cutting grass with a riding lawn mower, push mower, and weed wacker, etc.
  • Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
  • Rake, mulch and prune the grounds as needed.
  • Water plants daily and grass as needed.
  • Apply fertilizer to ground to enhance growth.
  • Apply weed stop to prevent future growth.
  • Prepare outdoor areas for upcoming events.
  • Sweep walkway of debris.
  • Keep outdoor furniture clean and in good repair.
  • Patch and paint common areas and resident rooms.
  • Paint benches, railing, doors and frames, posts and pillars.
