Requirements

Physical ability to do required work AND one year of experience or training involving grounds maintenance, plant care, cultivation and landscape installation.
May require valid State of Washington driver’s license.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Responsibilities

Maintain plants and manage weeds, including invasive and noxious weeds, through Integrated Pest Management strategies and practices, including hand and mechanical removal
Operate, maintain, and repair irrigation systems such as manual watering equipment and automatic irrigation clocks and systems, including operations and troubleshooting
Maintain campus waste to include trash, recycling, pallets and other waste appropriately
Cleaning of hard surface areas such as litter pick up, biohazard removal, and graffiti removal; pressure washing of hard surfaces; snow and ice removal as required during winter months
Prune trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials for health, clearance, and form using best horticultural practices; plant and transplant shrubs, trees, perennials, and annuals
Use hand and power implements and tools and commercial power equipment; operate power and motorized equipment
