About The Position

The Garden Center Merchandiser serves as Costa Farms’ representative in retail garden centers around Pearland, Pasadena, and Lake Jackson, Texas. The role maintains brand standards, optimizes product presentation, and supports a positive customer experience through product care, display, replenishment, inventory tracking, and accurate reporting. Work takes place in retail garden centers, such as The Home Depot, and may involve multiple locations within a designated territory. The position is physically active and hands-on, often outdoors or in semi-covered areas exposed to changing weather. A reliable mode of transportation is necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
All applicants must be work-authorized; Costa Farms will not sponsor a visa for this position.
Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing racks, and reaching.
Able to safely lift and move plant products or displays up to 50 pounds.
Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold.
Reliable mode of transportation for travel among assigned retail locations.
Able to work independently and manage time effectively while meeting merchandising and operational expectations.
Able to use a smartphone or tablet to submit reports, photos, and updates through company platforms such as Teams or internal apps.
Dependable and punctual, with consistent attendance and follow-through.

Nice To Haves

Previous retail, merchandising, or garden center experience is preferred.
Basic knowledge of plant care is a plus.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently across multiple locations.
Clear communication with store associates, supervisors, and internal teams, including timely reporting of inventory updates, issues, or store needs.
Ability to identify and address damaged products, inventory discrepancies, or display adjustments with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to adapt to changing weather, seasonal product changes, and shifting schedules.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively and support shared accountability.

Responsibilities

Keep Costa Farms and/or third-party products neatly displayed, fully stocked, and visually appealing.
Follow Costa Farms merchandising standards and planograms.
Rotate inventory according to freshness and product lifecycle.
Provide professional, courteous service to stores and store personnel.
Adjust availability to business needs, including seasonal demand and additional hours outside the regular schedule, such as weekends, nights, and holidays.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist as needed.
Follow safety standards and encourage other Costa Farms employees to do the same.
Merchandise products with high productivity and accuracy, and execute tasks as directed by the team.
Learn quickly and continually improve execution and productivity.
Complete surveys and Go Spot Check missions accurately and promptly.
Track and report inventory levels using designated systems.
Arrive at assigned locations to meet with the team as needed and consistently complete the assigned schedule.
Prepare stores for tours, meetings, and other events.
Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with store personnel.
Treat consumers well by being cheerful, helpful, and friendly.
Perform additional duties as required.
