About The Position

We are looking for a hard-working Garage Shop Assistant to join the Xcel Energy team in Maple Grove, Minnesota! In this position, you will perform general vehicle and power-operated equipment maintenance. Other responsibilities include unloading, washing, lubrication, parking, outdoor refueling, tire repair, general shop cleanup, parts running, driving large trucks with trailers, and moving/operating power equipment, including other shop-related functions as directed by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of two years of experience working in vehicle fleets, automotive or truck-related environments, or a Vo-Tech certificate in a mechanical-related field.
• Applicant must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A) or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Ability to read/write the English language.
• Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
