Clean-up Garage Mechanic
About The Position
This role involves performing preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing of company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and equipment. The mechanic will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and brake repairs, and troubleshoot various vehicle systems. The position requires the safe and proper use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance and repairs is essential. The mechanic will also identify and communicate safety concerns and mechanical issues to supervisors, maintain a clean and safe work area, and adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and regulations. Assistance with emergency repairs and other assigned duties may also be required.
Requirements
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing of company vehicles, trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire changes, fluid checks, belt and hose replacement, and other routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, and other vehicle systems.
- Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and properly.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and vehicle maintenance.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify safety concerns and mechanical issues before they become major problems.
- Communicate repair needs, safety concerns, and equipment conditions to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe garage and work area.
- Follow all company policies, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with emergency and breakdown repairs as needed.
- Complete assigned work in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
