About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Garage Keeper Claims Examiner – Bodily Injury to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex bodily injury claims arising from garage operations, auto dealerships, repair facilities, service centers, valet operations, and other garage-related risks. This role requires strong liability analysis, coverage interpretation, and negotiation skills to effectively manage claims involving bodily injury, third-party liability, and litigation exposure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial auto liability, garage liability, or bodily injury claims handling and demonstrate the ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards. Garage-related claims often involve injuries arising from garage operations, test drives, dealership activities, and customer vehicles under a business's care, custody, or control.

  • 2+ years of bodily injury claims handling experience.

  • Strong understanding of negligence, liability, comparative fault, and damage evaluation.
  • Experience negotiating settlements with claimants and attorneys.
  • Knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage bodily injury claims from inception through final resolution.
  • Analyze coverage, liability, causation, and damages related to garage liability and garage keeper exposures.
  • Conduct recorded statements, witness interviews, and scene investigations as needed.
  • Review medical records, bills, wage loss documentation, and other supporting evidence.
  • Establish appropriate reserves and maintain timely reserve accuracy.
  • Evaluate claims for settlement potential and negotiate settlements within assigned authority.
  • Identify and manage claims involving attorney representation and litigation.
  • Collaborate with defense counsel, independent adjusters, medical experts, and other vendors.
  • Prepare comprehensive coverage analyses and claim summaries.
  • Monitor litigation activities, discovery responses, and legal expenses.
  • Identify potential fraud, subrogation, and recovery opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company guidelines, and best claims practices.
  • Maintain accurate and timely claim documentation within the claims management system.
  • Participate in roundtable discussions and provide recommendations on high-exposure claims.
