About The Position

United Automobile Insurance Company (UAIC), a family-owned, privately held property and casualty insurance company, is seeking a Bodily Injury Claims Supervisor. This role involves overseeing Bodily Injury/Underinsured Motorist claims operations, providing leadership and professional development for BI/UM specialists, and conducting analysis of loss data to inform claim disposition strategies. The supervisor will ensure fair and efficient handling of bodily injury claims while maintaining exceptional customer service. This position offers a remote work arrangement within the Southeast region and requires an active Adjusters License.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years handling and/or supervising Texas Bodily Injury Claims required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active Adjusters License
  • Proven team leadership and Supervisory Experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of claims operations, procedures, and practices, particularly in the BI/UM market.
  • Prior experience handling bodily injury claims in Texas, with a strong understanding of state-specific laws and claims procedures.
  • Must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Windows–based applications, and internet usage.
  • Strong customer focus.

Nice To Haves

  • CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or AIC a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the pre-suit claims process from initial report to resolution, ensuring accurate documentation, proper investigation, and timely communication with claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders.
  • Review complex or high-value bodily injury claims to assess liability, coverage, and damages.
  • Collaborate with adjusters to ensure proper investigation, evaluation, and negotiation techniques are applied to achieve fair claim resolutions.
  • Answering any technical questions for adjusters.
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Generate and present regular reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Review new suits and prepares them for transfer to defense counsel.
  • Reviews and re-evaluates injury claims upon receipt of new information.
  • Logs in time demands and monitors for responses.
  • Approves any coverage denials; signs coverage disclosure letters for BI/UM claims.
  • Responds to Civil Remedy Notices.
  • Compiles monthly figures and reports to senior management.
  • Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
