About The Position
Tip Top Garage Doors is seeking a positive, dependable, and mechanically inclined Garage Door Technician to join their Charlotte team. This is a hands-on career opportunity with significant earning potential, especially for those motivated by performance-based pay. While garage door experience is preferred, it is not required; the company provides comprehensive training for individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
Requirements
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions in the field
- Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds and work comfortably on ladders
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dependability, accountability, and attention to detail
- All candidates are required to undergo pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings, as well as a Motor Vehicle Record Check.
Nice To Haves
- Garage door installation or repair experience is preferred but not required
- ServiceTitan experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors and related equipment
- Inspect systems, diagnose problems, and recommend safe, effective solutions
- Clearly explain repair and replacement options so customers can make informed decisions
- Deliver friendly, professional service during every customer interaction
- Complete accurate job documentation, including notes, photos, and diagrams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and fellow technicians
- Continue developing your technical, customer-service, and problem-solving skills
