About The Position

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electronic gaming devices (EGDs) under the direction of the Gaming Technician 3. This role involves handling floor repairs, preventative maintenance, cleaning, overhauls, and the initial setup of new EGDs. The position also assists management and slot floor personnel with various tasks related to EGDs, including breakdowns, relocations, jackpot verification, and ensuring EGD integrity. Maintaining current knowledge of gaming laws and regulations, promoting positive guest relations, and understanding detailed instructions are key aspects of this role. The technician is expected to demonstrate proficiency in using test equipment and instructing other technicians. They will perform maintenance and repair on EGDs, identify electronic faults at the board level, and assist floor personnel with guest service and disputes. A thorough understanding of various equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and sign/engraving machines, is required, along with excellent customer service. The role also emphasizes creating a fun atmosphere for guests and fostering mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees.

Requirements

  • Possesses knowledge of moving mechanical parts, gaming devices, electronics and electrical functions.
  • Understand and carry out detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess the ability to read and use reason when viewing schematics and/or trouble shooting flow charts.
  • Ability to read and understand EGD technical manuals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strong relationship with casino technical staff.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to specify and develop queries/reports using a range of software.
  • Ability to think logically and follow detailed instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally 100 lbs.
  • Must regularly push, pull, and maneuver gaming devices, up to 100 pounds, for the purpose of installation, repair or maintenance.
  • May occasionally be required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.
  • Uses hand trucks, power, jack and other various electrical or mechanical equipment.
  • Stoops over, kneels and crouches while repairing gaming devices.
  • Applicants must successfully complete screening for essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Handles floor repair and proper preventative maintenance of all EGDs, including cleaning, overhauls, etc.
  • Handles the repair, overhaul, and proper preventative maintenance of all EGDs in accordance with gaming regulations.
  • Handles the initial setup and checkout of new EGDs.
  • Assists Management in the breakdown, relocation and setup of EGDs and stands to be relocated.
  • Assists Slot Floor people in verifying jackpots as needed.
  • Assists in ensuring EGD integrity when jackpots occur and at other times requested.
  • Maintains current knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Brings disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the shift manager.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
  • Understands and carries out detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Perform routine maintenance on, and repair, all EGDs on the gaming floor
  • Expected to demonstrate increased proficiency in the use of all test equipment provided by the department.
  • Instructs Gaming Technicians on the technical aspects of EGD repair.
  • Performs immediate, periodic and overhaul maintenance on EGDs, equipment, hardware and peripheral attachments
  • Identifies and isolates electronics faults at board level.
  • Assists floor personnel upon demand from time to time in guest service and dispute.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of test metering devices as well as use of all EGD test and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all processes, test, software, and hardware setups of carious equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jack, forklift, and sign/engraving machines.
  • Performs excellent customer service at all time.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
