About The Position

The Gaming Shift Manager is responsible for safeguarding company assets, ensuring positive guest relations, and maintaining compliance with gaming regulations and company policies. This role involves overseeing gaming operations, managing floor attendants, and supporting departmental goals related to revenue, guest service, and operational efficiency. The manager will also be involved in hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions for subordinate gaming personnel. Key duties include monitoring gaming floor activity, electronic table games, and slot operations for performance and integrity, conducting shift briefings, preparing reports, authorizing jackpots, and resolving guest disputes. A visible presence on the gaming floor is essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years of related gaming experience
  • Two (2) years as a supervisor or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience with a focus on slot management.
  • Strong knowledge of gaming regulations and internal controls.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficiency in casino management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to obtain a New York State Key License.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in gaming management systems and data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with slot machine mechanics and troubleshooting
  • Intermediate computer skills, including e-mail, word, excel, data input and record keeping

  • Must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property, including Weekends, Holidays, and Evenings

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard company assets and ensure positive guest relations through communication and proper utilization of procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with gaming regulations with NYS Lottery and company policies, conduct regular audits and inspections.
  • Work with NYS data system MGAM to retrieve financial, statistical, and voucher management related information.
  • Assign work and responsibilities, oversee Gaming Operations and manage the gaming floor attendants to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Support departmental goals related to revenue, guest service, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in hiring, training, work assignments, evaluating performance, administering disciplinary action, and the termination of all subordinate Gaming personnel according to union and departmental policies.
  • Monitor gaming floor activity for suspicious behavior and report irregularities.
  • Monitor electronic table games (ETGs) and slot operations for performance and integrity.
  • Manage team expectations, ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies including coaching sessions.
  • Conduct shift briefings and communicate operational updates to team members.
  • Prepare shift reports, document incidents, and communicate with incoming shift management.
  • Authorize jackpots according to approved policies and complete required forms if necessary.
  • Resolve guest disputes, customer service issues, and escalated concerns in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the gaming floor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
