About The Position

Colonial Downs Group (CDG) is seeking a Gaming Attendant to join their team. CDG, which operates under Churchill Downs Incorporated, includes various brands across Virginia such as Colonial Downs Racetrack, Rosie’s Gaming Emporium, and The Rose Gaming Resort. The Gaming Attendant is responsible for servicing guests, building relationships, paying hand-pay jackpots, and performing minor repairs on HHR machines.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Nice To Haves

Excellent guest service skills in a high-volume environment.
Knowledge of gaming operations, rules, and regulations.
Six (6) months experience in a related field.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Ensuring all department paperwork, including jackpot slips, tax documents, and guest claim forms, is completed accurately and entered correctly, with all required signatures.
Maintaining and performing preventative maintenance on the electronic components, systems, and peripherals of HHR machines during downtime.
Maintaining confidentiality of privileged information in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
Having knowledge of all HHR machines on the gaming floor and determining proper payouts.
Protecting company assets by adhering to company policies and all state and regulatory compliance, including Internal Controls Policies and Procedures, The Responsible Gaming Plan, and Title 31.
Ensuring gaming devices are operating properly and promptly calling for technical or supervisory assistance when needed.
Promoting player card usage on the gaming floor.
Maintaining paper levels in all terminals for optimal play.
Reading gaming floor glass and pay table information, and recalling vital game histories.
Notifying shift supervisors of irregularities in guests’ play.
Ensuring all HHR machines are functioning properly and are available for guest play.
Maintaining knowledge of all basic Virginia Racing Commission rules and regulations.
Maintaining knowledge of company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
