About The Position

Player 15 Group, the sports and entertainment company behind the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Valley Suns, and Mortgage Matchup Center, is seeking experienced and motivated Game Night Assistants to support the Communications team during Phoenix Suns home games. The role assists with implementing the teams’ communications and media relations efforts on game nights in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The position is primarily indoors, with less than 5% exposure to weather. It involves sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds occasionally, and the ability to move throughout the arena for extended periods. The role also requires regular and reliable attendance, professional interaction with others, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Requirements

• Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel on a computer.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Professional and personable demeanor and approach.
• Basic knowledge of the NBA, Phoenix Suns, and basketball in general.
• Ability to handle confidential information without sharing it.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays for all Valley Suns home games.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field such as Public Relations or Marketing.
• Ability to transit throughout the arena for long periods of time.
• Ability to carry on a conversation by phone and in person.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous writing experience.
• Experience in sports.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up the media work room.
• Issue credentials and passes to media, staff, families, and guests.
• Distribute statistics to the media.
• Assist with compiling postgame materials, including transcribing quotes.
• Research statistical trends throughout games and the season.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
