About The Position

As a Game Mathematician, you will help shape the player experience by designing and analyzing the mathematical models behind games. You will contribute across the full game development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid role based in one of IGT’s offices in Las Vegas, Nevada; Reno, Nevada; Austin, Texas; or Chicago, Illinois.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
• Coding experience.
• Basic knowledge of probability mathematics.

Nice To Haves

• C# coding experience is strongly preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a math role; gaming or slot experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement mathematical logic for prize determination to match math design specifications, as directed by management.
• Participate in developing mathematical and statistical models and evaluate models for functionality and adherence to specifications, as requested.
• Assist with writing and evaluating production code.
• Assist in preparing theoretical par sheets that demonstrate probabilities and mathematical payouts using Excel calculations and/or simulation, as requested.
• Use proprietary tools to generate slot, bingo, and lottery math files, as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure math is correctly implemented and address questions.
• Evaluate products in development and provide feedback, as requested.
• Deliver work for one or more projects and meet deadlines set by management.
• Organize and create accurate, thorough math documentation and project deliverables, as requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
