About The Position

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a hardworking, outdoor-driven Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 to help build, maintain, and enhance Pennsylvania's game lands and wildlife habitats. In this role, you will operate heavy equipment, construct and repair infrastructure, manage habitat projects, assist with prescribed fires, and work across forests, fields, and rugged terrain to support healthy ecosystems and public access. This position supports the maintenance, repair, and improvement of game land structures and outdoor areas used by wildlife and the public.

Requirements

  • One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or One year of construction equipment operation experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with mowing, habitat projects, and general outdoor upkeep
  • Help maintain roads, bridges, parking areas, gates, and signs
  • Perform tasks that keep public shooting ranges safe and functional
  • Take part in construction and repair of various game land structures
  • Work with field staff to support conservation and public access needs
  • Carry out physical tasks in varied weather and terrain conditions
