About The Position

RevStar is seeking an experienced Game Design Subject Matter Expert specializing in visual design and systems to evolve interactive learning modules and graphics systems. The role focuses on transforming existing game engines and visual templates into modular, scalable, configurable frameworks, and establishing visual standards, system abstractions, and technical specifications for interactive content. The SME provides game design and visual layout expertise during client scoping and custom configuration reviews, collaborates with engineering and art teams, and works autonomously while contributing to a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional game design experience, specializing in visual design systems, UI/UX, or graphics template evolution rather than primarily standalone indie development.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting or modularizing visual game assets, level templates, or UI framework systems.
  • Deep technical expertise in visual communication, graphic asset pipelines, integration workflows, and user-centric design principles.
  • Ability to work autonomously, provide high-level technical direction, and execute independently in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Audit existing game assets, UI systems, and visual layouts to architect reusable, modular graphics templates.
  • Abstract visual components and core gameplay mechanics into configurable parameters for non-technical content creators.
  • Consult with engineering and art teams to define specifications for scalable asset and content pipeline tooling.
  • Architect gameplay loops, progression frameworks, visual feedback loops, and reward structures for interactive modules.
  • Establish and document UI/UX standards, visual design patterns, and aesthetic consistency benchmarks across game templates.
  • Translate complex subject matter into clear visual communication frameworks.
  • Serve as the game design and visual layout subject matter expert during client scoping and custom configuration reviews.
  • Conduct iterative visual design reviews, aesthetic audits, and usability assessments.
  • Produce documentation, including style guides, asset specifications, and technical configuration parameters.

Benefits

  • Paid time off.
  • Remote-first working environment.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company-sponsored 401(k) plan.
  • Annual learning and development stipend for conferences, certifications, or courses.
  • Peer mentorship and coaching.
  • Professional growth opportunities and exposure to AWS GenAI, data, and cloud technologies across diverse industries.
  • Company outings and volunteer opportunities.
  • Collaborative, innovative culture.
