About The Position

David Zwirner is seeking a Gallery Intern to support the Los Angeles team. The Intern should be curious with a willingness to learn, as well as highly personable, motivated, and responsible, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will work closely with and learn from all gallery departments, including front-of-house, sales, registration, marketing/press, and operations. This position requires professionalism, curiosity, flexibility, and dedication.

Requirements

An interest in contemporary art and the gallery’s program.
A willingness to learn about the contemporary art market.
The ability to work well with a team.
Highly personable, focused, and hardworking nature.
A positive, helpful, team-player attitude.
Ability to exercise diligence and discretion, be extremely organized, and possess a strong sense of time management.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience and a background within the commercial art world is not required.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Gallery’s front-of-house team.
Greet visitors with professionalism and warmth.
Provide support when necessary with fielding and directing incoming phone calls.
Assist with the maintenance of general office and kitchen supply inventories.
Aid in the shipping, receiving, and distribution of mail and packages.
Ensure the pristine appearance of work stations.
Support gallery openings and events.
Work with the Gallery’s sales team.
Prepare and update printed materials throughout the gallery.
Support data entry and data review projects.
Aid in the assembly of materials for exhibitions.
Events support.
Collaboration and support related to on-site events, both public and private, as well as exhibition openings.
Special projects as requested.
