About The Position

The On Call Gallery Guard maintains the security of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center and its gallery procedures. The schedule varies and is typically 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. The role requires willingness to work additional hours when work is available. Compensation is $23.87 per hour.

Requirements

• Prior security experience or a combination of training and experience in a related field.
• New York State Security Guard certification.
• Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to interact effectively with a diverse community.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, and other required federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center.
• Patrol a designated area throughout the gallery or lobby.
• Provide excellent visitor services by responding to inquiries professionally and courteously.
• Uphold museum security rules with the public, staff, and contractors to prevent theft, fire, damage, and personal injury.
• Supervise and support student attendants.
• Monitor and report safety or facilities conditions.
• Assist in maintaining gallery procedures.
