For more information about the company and product line visit: www.sigsauer.com Position Summary: The Gage Calibration Technician II tests and calibrates electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards. This position is responsible for learning how to effectively use all basic precision measuring hand tools including indicators, micrometers, thread wires, height masters, and comparators in the performance of these duties. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and at least 2 years of experience in gage calibration, inspection, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Ability to use calibration software such as GageTrak.
  • A good knowledge of GD&T is required for this position as well as an above average mathematical aptitude relating to the decimal system, Metric and English conversion, and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and associated tolerances.
  • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to teach and train others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.

Responsibilities

  • Plan sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.
  • Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry.
  • Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Disassemble gages and instruments and inspect components for defects.
  • Measure parts for conformity with specifications.
  • Reassemble and calibrate gages and instruments.
  • Provide both efficient and accurate performance of routine mechanical gage calibrations including maintenance of calibration records.
  • Assist engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and strive to find solutions.
  • Seek and act upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance productivity.
  • Must be able to train others as required.
  • Participate in 5S Workplace activities, maintaining the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
  • Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
  • May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
