About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of basic tests on manufactured products following written procedures under close supervision. The technician will utilize basic electrical and mechanical test equipment and must observe all safety precautions, especially when handling liquid nitrogen, operating testing ovens, and performing ballistic tests.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in mechanical or electrical technology or equivalent.
• Training in-house, on the job, specific to product-line.
• At least four years of experience in a related field involving device calibration and measurements.
• Familiar with most concepts of sensor designs within a product group.
• Basic computer skills required in operating calibration software.
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology prior to beginning work, as this position requires access to "controlled technology" and "technical data" as defined by export regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine electrical, mechanical and environmental tests and calibrations on most PCB products.
• Understanding and using proper ESD procedures as outlined in the ESD manual.
• Performing all necessary tests efficiently and accurately by following established written procedures; following steps on the product job router, writing legibly, signing and dating traveler when steps are completed.
• Ensuring that all products meet established test and/or calibration specifications and notifying Leadership when they do not.
• Assisting in the training and development of less experienced Technicians; may provide limited input to the development of testing procedures, equipment or automated testing programs.
• Ensuring that test equipment calibration stickers are not expired before using and notifying Leadership if expired or close to expiration; communicating with Leadership concerning any problems with product testing equipment.
• Following safety rules and keeping area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performing other related duties as directed to ensure efficient operation of department and PCB.
