About The Position

The University of Texas School of Law strives to create and promote an environment that values kindness and mutual respect and a culture that provides a deep sense of belonging for each member of our community. The Mithoff Program introduces students to the legal profession’s tradition and ethical obligation of pro bono service and empowers law students to use their developing legal knowledge and skills to address unmet legal needs in the community. The Mithoff Program offers pro bono opportunities to all Texas Law students, including through internal pro bono projects supervised by Mithoff Program attorneys and law school faculty. The Mithoff Program’s current roster of in-house projects delivers services in areas of law that include alternatives to guardianship, asset preservation and estate planning, criminal record clearing, driver license recovery, immigration, parole, special education, Title IX, and transactional legal services. The Mithoff Program regularly collaborates with law students, faculty, and partner organizations to develop new pro bono opportunities for Texas Law students. The Mithoff Program is part of the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law. The University of Texas School of Law invites applicants for a two-year post-graduate fellowship in the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Pro Bono Program. This position will offer a recent law graduate with an interest in working in legal education the opportunity to supervise law student work on pro bono projects and at pro bono workshops and clinics. During the academic year, the Fellow will be expected to perform most of their work in person at the law school, with limited ability to work remotely; during the summers and between academic terms, more remote work will be possible.
