Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Possess experience in a similar role with a general contractor.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project and/or Primavera P6 software.
  • Knowledge of the Autodesk suite (important asset).
  • Experience with BIM platforms (major asset).
  • Bilingualism (important asset).
  • High mobility to travel to remote regions.

Responsibilities

  • Upon submission, review the technical and administrative specifications of the project to be executed.
  • Manage the submission team, composed of construction personnel and estimator(s).
  • Gather necessary technical and administrative information from individuals involved in the submission.
  • Upon award, participate in the recruitment and setup of the project team.
  • Obtain plans and specifications for construction and compare them to submission plans.
  • Notify professionals of changes and claim costs.
  • Ensure the obtaining of permits and authorizations required for the execution of work.
  • Negotiate and award contracts to subcontractors.
  • Participate in the development of prevention and environmental programs and ensure their follow-up on the construction site.
  • Establish the project schedule and critical path and follow up weekly.
  • With the superintendent and project team, discuss, establish, and prepare the intended work methods.
  • Place orders for critical materials, negotiate prices, and prepare contract documents in collaboration with the project director for subcontractors.
  • Coordinate and participate in various meetings.
  • Establish and maintain necessary communications with subcontractors, professionals, and the client.
  • Organize and lead site meetings as needed.
  • Prepare and monitor the execution budget with the project director.
  • Follow up on change notices.
  • Monitor payments with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Authorize payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Deliver the project in collaboration with the superintendent and obtain final client acceptance.
  • Supervise the collection and creation of end-of-project documents.
  • All other related tasks.
