About The Position

Gerdau's Next Generation of Leaders (G.Future) program is an intensive 12-month leadership development initiative designed to cultivate future managerial and technical leaders within the company. Participants will engage in on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and mentorship from experienced professionals. The program aims to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to solve complex problems, manage strategic implementations, and gain a comprehensive understanding of Gerdau's business and the steel industry. This includes visiting customers and suppliers, collaborating with various levels of the organization across North America, and tackling significant business challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, or other applicable degree.
  • Bachelor's degree obtained within the past 3 years, or expected to receive degree by Summer 2024.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above).
  • A maximum of 3 years full-time work experience.
  • Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
  • High learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the length of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Solving large- and small-scale problems, such as creating mechanical components/assembly drawings.
  • Proposing business methods to optimize product output.
  • Redirecting process prioritization to improve current production standards.
  • Managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
  • Building a successful career through mentorship.
  • Facilitating integration with Gerdau, recognizing company values and business culture.
  • Streamlining training by providing technical knowledge and business vision.
  • Visiting customers and suppliers to gain in-depth knowledge of the business.
  • Gaining a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America.
  • Traveling to various destinations throughout the US and Canada.
  • Interacting with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling organizational challenges.
  • Growing a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
