About The Position

Gerdau's G.Future program is designed to invest in entry-level talent and develop future leaders for the company. This intensive 12-month program utilizes on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship from various leaders to shape participants into future managerial and technical leaders. Participants will be responsible for solving large- and small-scale problems, such as creating mechanical components/assembly drawings, proposing business methods to optimize product output, and redirecting process prioritization to improve current production standards. They will also work as leaders managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals. The program includes a Mentorship Program where an experienced professional will facilitate integration, help recognize Gerdau's values and business culture, and streamline training by providing technical knowledge and business vision. Participants will visit customers and suppliers to gain in-depth knowledge of the business, gain a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America, and travel to various destinations throughout the US and Canada. They will also interact with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling organizational challenges, and grow a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, or other applicable degree
  • Bachelor's degree from within the past 3 years, or expected to receive degree by Summer 2024
  • Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or above
  • A maximum of 3 years full-time work experience
  • Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
  • High learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the length of the program
