About The Position

Are you ready to kick off your legal career in the entertainment industry? Join the FX Business & Legal Affairs team and gain hands-on experience drafting agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors, and casting directors), underlying rights, and marketing for groundbreaking scripted and unscripted streaming programming. As an intern, you'll support a dynamic team across development, production, legal, and marketing, and contribute to high-profile projects that shape the future of entertainment. This is a unique opportunity that exposes you to business affairs, production legal, and marketing legal, making it an ideal launchpad for your legal career in media and entertainment! This is a full-time internship, and the approximate dates are from June 2026 through August 2026. If selected for this opportunity, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Business Affairs.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A detail-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents.
  • Shown ability to take initiative and balance multiple projects
  • Coursework in entertainment business, entertainment law, copyright, negotiation, or intellectual property
  • Skilled in research and using tools to gather and present information
  • Strong attention to detail with high-volume document processing
  • Exercise substantial care when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited law school and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Completion of one or more years of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through August 2026
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
  • Internship schedule will be adjusted to accommodate class schedule, and Friday hours may be remote, if desired.
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in the entertainment industry, and basic knowledge of copyright law
  • Familiarity with Airtable and/or Netdocs

Responsibilities

  • Drafting responsibilities will include preparing production, acting, writing, and development agreements
  • Drafting marketing services agreements
  • Drafting option purchase agreements
  • Addressing talent redline comments
  • Attend production legal kickoff calls, department meetings, and marketing task force sessions
  • Support research initiatives
  • Assist with synthesizing negotiation updates, closed deal terms, and finalized agreements across various departments.
