Associate, 24 Hour Futures Desk (Asia Shift)
About The Position
This opportunity is for a Futures Trader on RBC’s 24-hour desk, working the Asia Shift. The role involves developing and maintaining futures sales, execution, and clearing relationships for RBC Capital Markets. You will also assist with support for Trading Systems and collaborate with internal divisions like GELP, FICC, and FX to bring Futures execution flow to the 24-hour Desk. Additionally, you will support salespeople with execution and other issues, market Fixed Income, Commodity, and Index Futures to clients, and grow the client base through referrals and existing relationships. The position requires producing and distributing real-time market commentary, advising futures clients, soliciting orders, and generating income in line with department goals while minimizing trade execution risk and documenting any trading errors.
Requirements
- Proven accurate trade execution track record for US FCM and/or Investment Bank working on a 24-hr desk executing futures and options transactions in worldwide markets.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of futures execution experience in current capacity is preferred
- In depth knowledge of futures electronic execution systems and of CFTC, SEC and Exchange Rules and Regulations for trade execution including audit trail, order entry rules and sales supervision rules and regulations.
- Highly motivated and energetic self-starter who works well with teams.
- Series 3 required
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of all Global Futures markets to aid in best execution.
