About The Position

CaVU is seeking a Future Capabilities Network Engineer to support the design of Navy networks. Specifics tasks include: Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements, development of network templates and IP plans, development of test plans and documentation. Configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency and the specific LCAT requirements the candidates is proposed under.
  • Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science required.
  • Secret minimum, TS/SCI desired
  • 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation
  • Proven track record of performance in client facing roles that require engagement and relationship building with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies
  • Experience with SDN/ SD-WAN Technologies and vendors including VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions
  • Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc)
  • Experience developing and documenting network topologies
  • Experience in troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages
  • Experience in virtualization technologies
  • CCNP (or equivalent) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF communications, specifically MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM technologies.
  • Experience leveraging NetDevOps or DevSecOps to scale enterprise level engineering projects.
  • Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF
  • Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML, or Jinja
  • Experience developing and maturing complex, collaborative networking projects
