About The Position

This role involves learning, performing, and rotating between various positions such as packer, scaler, styler, and grader to maintain product line speeds at the designated rate. The position requires working on a moving conveyor belt using both hands to spread or style product, performing multiple types of packing and weighing, and pulling bones from product. Additionally, the role involves inspecting and grading product, removing items that do not meet standards, and participating as a member of a team. Team participation includes contributing to the development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work for best practices, attending team meetings, and fostering cohesiveness. Team members are expected to identify and resolve issues that lack cohesiveness and reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy. The position also requires familiarity with Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, company policies, and LEAN principles, understanding the responsibility to maintain this familiarity and the impact of individual actions on these systems. Other duties may be assigned to support business objectives.

Requirements

Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift.
This position involves repetitive motion.
May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
Standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip resistant footwear are required.

Responsibilities
