About The Position

This role involves greeting the public, providing information about products and services, selling merchandise, and explaining extended service plans to customer satisfaction. The position also requires continuous learning about products and competitors, maintaining store displays, assisting with inventory, and completing shopping reports.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • A minimum of three years prior experience in the retail industry, preferably in a customer contact area.
  • Ability to read English sufficiently to read invoices, repair orders, faxed requests and similar written materials.
  • Basic English language writing skills for completion of orders, requests, and correspondence.
  • Fluency in spoken English for communication with customers.
  • Basic math skills, including multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division.
  • Occasionally the ability to grasp, lift or otherwise move goods weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate computer terminals and other electronic equipment and complete paperwork.
  • Minimum typing speed of at least 20 words per minute with no errors.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Customers
  • Sell merchandise in accordance with current pricing policy.
  • Sell and accurately explain service contracts, ensuring they are added to sales invoices.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge in the assigned department, including attending training sessions.
  • Be aware of competitors' policies, price levels, and assortments. May be assigned to complete competitor shopping reports.
  • Take physical inventories as required.
  • Clean and maintain the selling area or counter area.
  • Assist with changing, arranging, or straightening selling displays.
