About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking a Furniture Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring efficient processing by Associates, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Furniture Coordinator will create a positive customer experience, promote a culture of honesty and integrity, and orchestrate truck delivery. They will train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles, ensure merchandise is properly tagged and secured, and communicate with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods. The role involves monitoring team productivity, coaching as necessary, organizing back stock, maintaining merchandising and signage standards, and upholding backroom organizational and cleanliness standards. Compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, clear communication with management and Associates, and providing/accepting feedback are also key responsibilities. The Furniture Coordinator will partner with Management on Associate training needs, ensure adherence to labor laws and policies, promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness. Other duties as assigned.

  • 1 year retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Executing receiving and merchandising standards
  • Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
  • Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
  • Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
  • Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
  • Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
  • Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
  • Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
  • Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
  • Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
  • Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
  • Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
  • Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
  • Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
  • Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
  • Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promoting credit and loyalty programs
  • Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
